Kosher Amsterdam
New! You can dowload a compact tourist-oversight of Kosher and Jewish Amsterdam specially designed: Jewish Tourist info Amsterdam
All restaurants and shops on the website (besides Mouwes kosher food) are under the supervision of the Sephardi and Ashkenazi community of Amsterdam. When entering the shop, a “Hechsher-certificate” will be visible. The Hechsher is signed by the Sephardi Rabbi Dayan P. Toledano and the Ashkenazi Rabbi Dayan Eliezer Wolff and Rabbi Aryeh Ralbag, who are responsible for the Kashrut in Amsterdam. The Kashrut is Mehadrin Lemehadrin and all the meat is Glatt-Kosher (Chalak). All Milky products sold in shops with the Hechsher are Chalav Yisrael. Mouwes Kosher Food sells mostly packed foods and is trusted by most people also for non-packed foods although they don’t have a Hechsher. Also the bakery `Neshome` is not under the supervision of the Amsterdam Rabinates because it is part of a Jewish hospital which has it´s own Rabinate, Rabbi Binyomin Yacobs is the Rabbi of this Rabinate.
If you click on our website on “Eruv and map of kosher Amsterdam“ a map of all the kosher shops and restaurants will appear in order for you to find them easily.
The Chief Rabbinate of The Netherlands publishes a list of products that are kosher and available in the regular supermarkets throughout The Netherlands.
